Today is going to be one of those list days. I don't have anything specifically that I want to write a whole post on, so tidbits on a Tuesday it is!
one. Let's talk 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target for a second..
If you read my post yesterday, then you know that I purchased several bags from the collection. I love them and I feel lucky to have snagged them. Over the weekend, I saw lots about the collection on the twits. Some people were just as excited, and some people were not.
I feel like I need to give my two cents about the collection and the Target collaborations in general. Personally, I feel like the collaborations are awesome and I will always support them, as long as I'm a fan of the designer. Some of you probably don't know who Phillip Lim is, and that's totally fine. Just to give you a heads up, he's an American designer that started his line in 2005. He's been successful, but his clothes and accessories are at a higher price point. For someone like Phillip Lim, getting an opportunity to design for Target is a dream come true. He got to produce his famous designs at a lower price point and get them into Targets all over the country. Millions more women and men are now wearing his designs. He's suddenly a household name.
That is exactly why I support the lines from Target. It's an amazing opportunity to the designer and I'm not a place in my life that I can support many American designers at my salary. Will I have the same bag as many other people for a few months? Probably. But I know that when I see someone else wearing one I will smile knowing that they too wanted to support the same thing that I did.

three. My new motto.. positivity and silver linings.
I can be a very negative person. I get anxiety and I think the worst and I create these terrible situations in my mind. But I'm making a change! I want to consciously live in the positive and think good things instead of bad. It's not going to be easy but I'm just not going to give myself any other option. Now is as good a time as any to change the way you look at things, because when you do the things you look at change.
four. Colorado is the place to be!
I have been living in Denver for almost 3 years and for most of it I have whined and complained about how none of my friends live here. Well now that's basically a lie. I have my Janna, then Mallory moved here, Brittany is here, then I found a friend from high school, now Kym is moving here, and two of my friends from college are either moving or considering it. I kind of want to run around yelling about how excited I am!
five. Ann Taylor LOFT sells boyfriends.
Or at least they want you to think they do. That's just rude.

I really really really wish I cared about designers. I'm a flippin' fashion major for hecks sake. I just don't. I'm all about the collaborations and I think it's great, I just don't get why SO many people flip their shit over them haha. And why Target makes so little of all the pieces every single time. Why does there have to be a mob scene to get any of the crap?
I need to go to Vegas for this. Sign me up.

Oh my sweet lord, Brit Brit in Vegas. I'm gonna have to plan a weekend girls' trip, no doubt.
I need a new purse SO BAD but I can't find one I LOVE and I'm too scared to go to Target during budget month so I'm going to be missing out on the Phillip Lim which is ok because I've never heard of him...don't hate me.

Completely agree about the Philip Lim collection, I admire him and love his higher end designs and think this collaboration with Target was amazing. I bought the large black tote and I am in LOVE.

I don't mind the Phillip Lim for Target collection I browsed through the other day before I started my shift and some of the stuff is quite nice (I work at one of the canadian targets as a brand attendant). And ooh I think I know where I'm going on vacation next! Ahh brit brit will be a blast!
