#problemz

I was doing such a good job! I was blogging away, posting 5 days a week and starting to plan in advance so I knew what I would be posting about next week.. AND THEN life kinda turned upside down.

Last week started off calm.. but before I knew it there were job interviews, too many drinks, crazy puppies, and a broken computer charger

Well, I am happy to tell you that this week there is a NEW JOB, a still crazy puppy, a borrowed computer  charger, and a very happy Sami

More on the new job later but today was my first day and it was awesome! I am loving every minute of it and no it's not because I get to write down fun things in this perfect little gem I got last week :)

Erin Condren Life Planner

If I've learned anything it's that patience is truly a blessing. When things are bad.. give it enough time and they will turn right back around for you!

I'll be back tomorrow with Pinteresting Wednesdays but until then I leave you with this adorable little butthead sweetheart..

"But Mom.. I don't want to get out of bed!"

P.S. I am officially over The Bachelor. Ben is such a complete idiot. Thank god for Ashley that she picked that little piece of heaven J.P. over him because he is a snooze fest. Let's face it ladies, he is going to pick that god awful model and they will probably stay together for all of 10 seconds. LAME.

Pinteresting- Leopard Love!

Today I am going to link-up with The Vintage Apple for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesdays

For as long as I can remember I have always loved anything and everything leopard and I couldn't be happier that it is now considered a neutral pattern that can be worn with anything. My favorite leopard things are accessories that can add a fun piece to any outfit, but let's face it I will wear anything with those gorgeous brown and black spots. Don't worry though, I know how much leopard is fun and stylish and how much is overkill ;)

What are your thoughts on leopard? Do you love it or hate it and what are your favorite ways to wear it!

Happy Humpday lovies! I have some great opportunities this week so cross your fingers for me!

Designer of the Week #3 Zac Posen

I have had a love affair going with Zac Posen since the moment I saw him... and then I saw his clothes. Not only is he gorgeous but his clothing is beautiful and can make any women feel incredible.

Posen was only 21 when he launched his namesake line. That was in 2002 and just eight years later he launched his lower priced line Z-spoke in order to reach a wider market. Last year, he opened his very first store, previously being sold at Bergdorfs, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Intermix. Posen collaborated with Target in 2010 for a very successful women's line. Posen employed both his Mother and sister to work on his business team.

His clothing is romantic, tailored, and clean. He knows how to work with fabric to reveal a woman's curves and figure and are sexy without being too revealing. Posen understands femininity in a way that most male designers don't quite get. It's not surprising that he has success has come quickly and is surely not going to fade anytime soon.

Work from Spring 2012 Ready to Wear:

There is no way that a woman could put on any of these dress and not feel gorgeous.

Posen has a booming celebrity clientele and his work is always featured during awards season. Both Rihanna and Reese Witherspoon are just two examples of Women in Hollywood that are often seen in Posen's work.

Celebrities in Zac Posen:
Christina Hendricks- 2010 Emmys

Elle Macpherson- 2012 Golden Globes

Rihanna- 2008 Grammys

Reese Witherspoon- 2011 MTV Movie Awards

As I continue to feature a Designer of the Week I would love to have suggestions as to which designers you would love to see! Have a wonderful Tuesday lovies :)

SURPRISE! Meet Lily

So I mentioned on Thursday that I was hoping to have a surprise for ya'll today! Well I do. Over the weekend I adopted a DOG

Her name is Lily, and she is the sweetest little angel I ever could have asked for!

Right after I picked her up!

I adopted her from a Chihuaha Rescue here in Colorado. She is a little over a year old and is a Chihuaha and Miniature Pinscher mix that weighs about seven pounds. She spent the first year of her life cooped up in a dog pen with a bunch of other dogs until the Humane Society saved her and eventually handed her over to the rescue.

She is very timid and sweet and wants to spend most of her time curled up next you, which I love! I can already tell she is going to be the perfect little companion. Yesterday we even went on our first walk and she did pretty well! She is very long and skinny and has been wrapped up in a shirt or sweater most of the time because I hate to see her shiver.

Is this not the most adorbs things you've ever seen??

I spend alot of time thinking about this decision before I went for it and I am so glad I did. I mean I even woke up at 8am on my day off to take this little booger out :) Hope you all love her as much as I do!

Happy Monday lovies!

January Birchbox Review

Ya'll I love Birchbox. Well, more so I love beauty samples. I used to get giddy when I went to Sephora and the sales girl asked me if I wanted her to throw in a few samples. My answer was always yes. Now I get giddy when I see my favorite pink box in my mailbox!

January's Birchbox did not dissapoint! By the wayyy, I apologize in advance for these iPhone pictures. I was too lazy to charge my camera. Atleast you get to see how pretty my duvet cover is ;)

The packaging is one of my favorite parts! It's so pretty!

My favorite item was the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner. The color is called Peacock and is a gorgeous deep blue/teal! I actually love to wear a colored liner on my lower lid because it helps my eyes pop when I don't want to wear eyeshadow. They are not kidding about the waterproof! I tried it on my hand and after letting it sit for a few seconds it would not budge without soap and water. The best part? This gem is actually FULL SIZE!

The color matches my duvet cover ;)

I also recieved a sample of Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy perfume. I have used this perfume in the past and I adore it! I will definitely be throwing this in my purse for when I need a last minute spritz.

Next up is Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. I used this with my obsession Clarisonic and I really loved how much lather it has. My face was squeaky clean when I rinsed it off and felt great! I'll continue to use the sample and if my skin doesn't do anything crazy I may order the full-size because I've got points to use. Points? Yes, that's right. Everytime you get a Birchbox you get points that you can use towards a discount off of the full-size items.
How cute is the little box it came in?

I also got VMV Hypoallergenic's Re-Everything: Face-Hand-Body Lotion. This is a very light, non-scented lotion. It's great because you can use it anywhere on the body. I will most likely throw this in my purse and use it on my hands because they are super dry in the winter but I cannot stand the feeling of greasy lotion. This one is not!

Last but not least, a mini Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Lara Bar. This thing was so stinking cute and I didn't mind the flavor. Plus they are made in Denver, Colorado and I love to support anything local!

For $10, this a great little monthly gift to yourself! However, I was just informed that they now have a waitlist. Make sure you go give them your email address so you can find out when they are available again!

Happy Friday lovies! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend :)

I Confess...

I Confess... I had a mini freak-out when I won Stephanie's Giveaway on Tuesday! I never win anything and I was SO excited!
Steph's hubby Beau announcing the winner on her blog!

I Confess... I may or may not have a BIG surprise to tell you on Monday! I don't want to give away any details and jinx it but cross your fingers for me!

I Confess... I saw the movie The Darkest Hour and it was awful. I love Emile Hirsch but this movie was beyond bad, just not even remotely interesting. Save your money!

I Confess... I hate cleaning. My parents had a house keeper and this lead to me never using a broom or mop. I'm aware this makes me sound like a brat BUT I cleaned my house yesterday and it made me feel SO good!

I Confess... I could eat Fro-yo for every single meal and be completely happy. It's heaven in a cup!
Coconut Pinkberry with Strawberries and Chocolate shavings :)

I Confess... My parents have never seen or read anything Harry Potter and I was embarrassed for them. But then my Mom and I had a little marathon these past two weekends and watched all 8 movies and now I feel much better!
Pretty inspiring words if you ask me!

I Confess... My friend and sorority sister from college Lindsey pretty much makes my day with her sweet comments on my blog posts! She has a really cute blog that you can check out here.

Happy day before Friday Thursday! :)

Designer of the Week #2 Alexander McQueen

Today I would like to show you the beautiful work that is Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen created his namesake fashion line in Britain in the 90's. He was the primary designer  for the line until is untimely death in 2010. Sarah Burton has since taken over and created the amazing wedding dress worn by Kate Middleton.

Pure elegance.

McQueen is famous for his incredible tailoring and his provacative fashion shows. He was the youngest designer to ever recieve the award for British Designer of the Year and he later recieved the CFDA award for International Designer of the Year. McQueen also spent time in the 2000's designing for Givenchy. His designs are aggressively tailored yet romantic and are always aesthetically interesting.

One of McQueen's last big successes were his 10 inch stillettos that were worn by Lady Gaga.
Amazing.
After his death, his collections were given an incredible exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Here are several examples of his work that were featured:

One word.. feathers.

Worn by Sarah Jessica Parker

His signature torn lace

Amazing proportion.

You cannot deny that McQueen had an incredible vision and unbelievable creativy. His designs make you think outside the box, a charactertistic of all amazing fashion designers.

Something that is also very important for successful designers is to have designs that can translate to a red-carpet and McQueen does this beautifully.
Celebrities in McQueen:
Mila Kunis SAG Awards 2010

Kate Bosworth
Katie Holmes

Sandra Bullock

It's sad that such an incredible designer is gone but his legacy will live on in his beautiful designs! All of McQueen's past and present collections can be found on Style.com. Hope all of you lovies have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Tattoo Link-up!

Today I am doing my very first link-up! I am linking up with the gorggg Raven who you can check out here!

First I will reveal my one and only tattoo! It is a Woodland Violet that is located on my foot. I got it during freshman year of college and it is the flower of the sorority I was in, Alpha Delta Pi. I love the colors and I still love the tattoo but I have to admit it was a bit of a rash decision. My mom took me to a tattoo shop and I knew I wanted a flower and with the sorority being such a huge part of my life, I just sort of went with it!

I love the location of my tattoo but let me just warn you, this little baby was insanely painful!

The colors were so vibrant and bright and in the 4 years since I got the tattoo it has definitely faded but I don't have plans to ever get it filled in.

I never thought I would want another tattoo and I didn't for a long time but I have recently been wanting to get another one. This one I have put alot of thought into and it's something I want to do with my mom. I'd love for us to have matching tattoos! We both love the idea of a Hamsa. Hamsa is an Arabic word that means "five" or "the five fingers of the hand." It is a sign of protection, strength, blessings, and power. The hand typically has an evil eye in the middle to ward off evil spirits. It is linked to Israel and the Jewish religion which represents part of my upringing. I think the designs are beautiful and I would love to get it on my inner wrist in possibly black and white ink. I love the look of white ink and its subtleties! My mom and I need to have someone draw up some examples and agree on the design and then we'll get them :)

Here are some fun examples I found on Pinterest:

I'll keep ya posted on whether or not this idea come into play! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday and I will be back tomorrow with Designer of the Week :)
