Do's and Don'ts Round 2

Hello amazing followers friends!
Is it really Monday already?
It never ceases to amaze me how slow the work week goes and how fast the weekend flies by.
It's just unfair really!

I'm back with another edition of..
Do's and Don't for Having a Successful Weekend

DO enjoy cupcake, gifts, and free lunch on Friday!
Administrative Professionals week is awesome :)

DO sit on the porch with a glass and unwind on Friday night
My Friday's at work are super busy so I definitely need some time to relax and get out of work mode.

DON'T stay up late!
You'll get a great night's rest and wake up early and ready to take on your Saturday.

DO wake up and get your fitness on, you'll feel amazing after!

DO clean your house and do your laundry.
It may not be your favorite but it must be done!

DON'T stay inside! Go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather :)

DO go out and buy super cute goodies for Send Something Good!
Can't wait to send this package out, on it's way to it's owner.

DO eat froyo once, maybe twice.
Don't judge me ;)
I just discovered that Yogurtland, my favorite froyo, opened up in walking distance of my house.
This is bad news for my wallet.. and my diet.

DON'T worry about over cuddling your pup, it's just not possible!

DO spend Saturday night eating sushi and watching Footloose.
I wasn't expecting to like the movie, but I did!

And finally..
DON'T worry if you spend most of the weekend by yourself.
It's a nice change of pace to relax and have some you time.
Plus, you can do whatever you want, whenever you want!

What did you guy's do this weekend?

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Friday's Letters

Hello Friends!

Guess what?

It's Friday!
You know what that means right?

Time for my favorite Friday post with that sweet girl from Adventures of Newlyweds..

Dear Friday,
For some reason this work week has felt exceptionally long.
I'm ready to get the weekend started! Cheers!

Dear Gavin DeGraw,
I am SO glad that you are coming back to Denver!
This will be my 10th concert and believe me it never gets old.
August 7th can't come soon enough!
Mom and I are ready to party ;)

Dear Oven Roasted Edamame,
Holy smokes. You are delish.
Somehow crunchy while still being soft, you may be my new favorite snack!
You guys have gotta try these.. find the recipe here.

Dear Vacation,
Let's reunite.
I need some fun in my life!
The question is where do I go and who's coming with me?!

Dear Work,
I know I've only been working here for 3 months but can I get a raise?
I need some more money to go on said vacation and to buy some pretties.. of course.
You know you want to help a sista out!

Dear Casual Days at Work,
I love you.
It gives me a little pep in my step when I get to wear something fun to work!
It also helps me get my booty out of bed in the morning.
Let's meet more often shall we?

One last VERY important letter:
Dear Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon,
Congratulations to my two new favorite NFL players!
The Browns and the Jags are very lucky to have you.
You both are going to do great things!

That's all I got friends!
Have a fab weekend and see you Monday..
xoxo

Key Lime Pie

Happy Thursday Lovies!

Today I am here to share with you one of my favorite desserts to make..
Key Lime Pie!

I'm not a huge fan of pie, I'd rather have a piece of cake or a cookie.
HOWEVER, this pie is tart and custardy and perfect.

Make this for your husbands, boyfriends, family.. everyone will love it!

Did I mention it's super easy too?
A win, win if you will.

Ingredients:
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
5 egg yolks
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup Key lime juice
2 teaspoons Fresh Key lime zest
(You will need about 15 Key limes for this, I found them at Sunflower Market 10 for $1)
Green food coloring (optional)
1/2 cup Heavy Whipping Cream (optional)
Stevia to taste (optional)

one. Set oven at 375 degrees. Zest about 2 of the limes with a micro plane and set zest aside.
two. Cut the key limes in half and use a hand juicer to squeeze the juice into a measuring cup.
three. Separate egg yolks and place in a large bowl.
four. Add the can of sweetened condensed milk.
five. Strain juice into the bowl to catch any seeds.
six. Whisk the ingredients until smooth.
seven. Add zest to bowl. (This is also where you would add food coloring if you wanted your pie to be green. I personally think it's fine to leave it yellow.)
eight. Pour the mixture into the graham cracker crust and bake in oven for 15 minutes.
You do not need to check for doneness, the pie will firm up as it sits.

I like to garnish with fresh whipped cream with some Stevia added and a few sliced limes that I dipped in sugar. Cover and leave in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

This is such a yummy summer treat!
The pie is tart and refreshing and so delicious.
Let me know what you think if you try it!

Ps. 87 followers?! Ya'll are simply amazing!
If that little number gets up to 100, I will definitely be thinking of a fun giveaway :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Weekend Update

Helloooo Lovers!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend..
mine was pretty perfect :)

But.. before you do anything else you need to go enter my giveaway!
I'm hosting the Instagram Blog Hop over at The Pink Elephant and giving away something pretty awesome.
Go check it out..

Ok now where were we?
My weekend..
I intially had planned on having a low key, relaxing weekend at home.
Then last minute Lily and I packed our belongings and headed to Colorado Springs to visit my parents.

What a great idea it was!

Friday night..
I met my parents at my Aunt and Uncle's house for dinner.
We ate and chatted and it was great to enjoy each other's company.
I was asleep by 10pm.

My outfit on Friday..
Leopard, Pink, and Sparkles aka all of my favorite things!

Saturday..
I made the yummiest cheesy grits for breakfast.
Then my other uncle came over with my cousin, Kate and we went to lunch.
I ran some errands with my Dad (aka made him take me to Pinkberry)

and then went to get mani's and pedi's with Mom.

We ran to Costco and to Old Navy and then home to get ready for dinner.

Saturday night..
My parent's and I went to a new Brazilian steakhouse Tuscano's.
We had a long wait so Mom and I went to the bar and she introduced me to the Caipirinha.

Basically the Brazilian Mojito and oh my gosh they were deeeelish.
The food was amazing too!

Sunday..
My Mom, Aunt, and I went to a Pet Expo.
They had all kinds of products and a bunch of dog rescues.
I fell in love with a sweet Pom named Coral and wanted desperately to make her Lily's sister.
Sadly, it's not the right time.
Seeing all those dogs makes me so sad, I wish I could save them all!

Sunday night..
My Mom and I cooked dinner and I made a Key Lime Pie.

I will post the recipe later this week.
Afterwards, I sadly headed home to get ready for work in the morning.

I love being in Denver and hanging out with my friends..
but sometimes it's nice to have quality parent time!

What did you do this weekend?
Did you have big plans or lay low?

Hope you all have a great day :)
xoxo

April Birchbox Review

Hello loves!

It's Monday again.
I had a great weekend and I can't wait to share it with you,
but that will have to wait because I have to share something else..

Let's talk Birchbox, shall we?
This month's box was all about the use of natural ingredients!
I love this because I don't often think about what kind of chemicals might be in the products I use on a daily basis.. which is really important.

I thought it was cute that they swapped out their usual pink wrapping for green,
to go along with their natural theme.

one. Dropps Laundry Detergent
Alright, so I know every month they include an "extra", which is a lifestyle product.
This one I just don't get.
I didn't sign up for Birchbox to get cleaning products.
I will probably use these when I run out of my other detergent but my guess is they work the same as everything else.

two. Willa Gentle Cleansing Lavender Facial Towelettes
These are so cute.
I didn't get a chance to try them out because I'm saving them to throw in my travel stuff,
but what a great way to clean your face before bed.
 I'm sure they smell amazing!

three. Wonderstruck perfume by Taylor Swift
Not a fan of this scent.
It doesn't work with my skin and smells a little old lady to me.
I don't really love that Birchbox sends alot of perfume samples,
I can easily walk into Sephora and smell whatever perfume I want.
I want makeup samples!

four. Zoya True Spring Collection
I received the color Bevin, a greyish mint green.
I'm undecided on this color..
I was kind of bummed because they other colors were so pretty.
This one just isn't bright enough for me.
I would most likely wear this in the Winter, not the Spring.

five. J.R. Watkins Hand and Cuticle Salve
This was my favorite product!
It's a balm that you can rub on dry spots on your hands and cuticles.
It also smells like lemons :)
I get really dry cuticles and I've been keeping this as my desk and applying several times a day..
it's amazing!

Well, this Birchbox was kind of a bust.
I don't expect to love every sample in every box though!
Last month was amazing so I can handle a lackluster box.

I can't wait for May's box..
If you haven't heard it's sponsored by Gossip Girl so it's gonna be good!

Have you signed up for Birchbox yet?
What are you waiting for?

Friday's Letters

Happy Friday Pretty Friends!

Joining Ashley for my favorite link-up..

Dear Followers,
Omgosh I cannot believe that you 55 wonderful people actually want to read this little blog.
It makes my heart SO happy!

Dear Bank Account,
Is there anyway we can make a deal?
I buy pretty things and you just keep having money.
How's that sound?
If only..

Dear Vamp Diaries,
Holy crap.
Let's continue this Damon and Elena storyline shall we?
It's pretty obvious that they are a real life couple because the chemistry between them is cray.
I'm dreading when the season is over.. what am I going to watch?!

Dear Lily,
You were a real trooper on our 2 mile walk the other night.
Then you passed out from exhaustion.
So cute I can't even stand it!

Dear Crockpot,
While I know it is totes soo old lady of me to say this.. I can't help it I love you!
It was so nice to come home from work to dinner already made.
Easy peasy and I loved it!
If anyone has any amazing recipes involving the crockpot, please send them my way :)

Dear Essie,
Now that I've started buying your polish.. I can't stop.
This week's fave is A Crewed Interest, a perfect pinky nude.
I've got my eye on something bright and colorful next time.

What do ya'll have planned for the weekend?
My plans are to do as little as possible.
Sometimes you just need a weekend like that right?

Until next week loves.
xoxo

What I'm Listening To..

Ya'll I love a good playlist.

It literally can make the difference of me getting to work in a good mood or bad every morning.
That traffic can be a real you know what.

Anyways, I wanted to share the songs I am currently loving!

1. "Payphone" Maroon 5 (feat. Wiz Khalifa)
This song is ah-maz-inggg!
I'm a huge fan of Adam Levine's body Maroon 5..
and Wiz Khalifa is another one of my faves.
I can't wait for their new CD to come out!

2. "Boyfriend" Justin Beiber
I had never really gotten into the whole Beiber fever hysteria,
but this song is really good!
It reminds me of old school Justin Timberlake.
Ps. Does anyone else think JT should quit the movie scene and get back to music?!
Amen.

3. "Somebody That I Used to Know" Glee Cast
Glee is one of my favorite shows and while I don't always love their choice of songs..
I do love when they knock it out of the park and make me like their version better.
I think Darren Criss (Blaine) has an amazing voice!

4. "Wild Ones" (Flo Rida feat. Sia)
This song is SO catchy!
I really think it's going to be a Summer anthem this year.
I can already see myself jamming out to it by the pool!

5. "We Are Young" Fun (feat. Janelle Monae)
Another super catchy song!
Some people hate it, but I love, when I can't help but sing along to a song.
It makes my car rides (when I'm alone obviously) so much better!

6. "Work Out" J Cole
I have a secret.
I LOVE rap music.
Any song that makes me want to dance in my car at 7:30am is okay with me!

7. "Turn Me On" The Fray
I've talked about this CD before but not this song.
This is my new favorite.
I love that it's a little more upbeat than they usually do!

8. "Sweeter" Gavin DeGraw
Ya'll know I couldn't leave my main man out right?
This is the title track off his new album and it's good!
And believe me it's hard to pick just one of his songs ;)

What are you guys currently listening to?
I'm always open to suggestions on some good jams!

Ps. I'm featured on sweet Katie's blog today so go check it out here.

It's the day before Friday Thursday chicas!
Almost the weekend :)

Things Girls Love that Guys Hate

So I got to thinking today..
there has got to be a whole list of things that

Girls LOVE that Guys HATE

So I came up with a list.
I mean it wasn't that hard..
because I do each and every one of these things.
Whoops.

Here we go:

1. Talking in Abbrevs
Love this one.
I have watched guys be physically annoyed when I've used unnecessary abbreviations.
My favorites? Adorbs. Totes. Immed. Hilar.
I'm fully aware that these words don't make sense but they are FUNNY..
and I like to laugh.

2. Taking Pictures
I've always loved taking photos and catching every silly moment
and of course.. Instagram has only added to this obsession.
Guys never take pictures and they hate when girls force them to take one.

3. Little Dogs

If you say you have a dog, guys think that's cool..
until you tell them it's a Chihuahua or some other small breed.
Then they cringe and think I carry her around in a purse.. which I don't.
Lily would never put up with that!

4. Shopping

I know, I know you are going to try and fight this one.
But I don't care who it is.. Guys hate shopping.
If he doesn't hate shopping then he's probably gay or a douche.
Think about it..

5. Talking ALOT

I have always loved to talk.
I have also noticed as of late that when I have a few cocktails I have a bad case of "word vomit."
I literally can't shutup, and I sometimes think the guys I'm talking to wish they were deaf.
Sometimes I wish I was deaf.
Not really though.

6. Over analyzing everything
Guilty.
I will literally think of every possible explanation for something.
I like to think that it helps, but it really just makes me crazy.
Guys hate crazy.

7. Taking forever to respond to a text message

You know what I'm talking about.
This usually only occurs when you are NOT in a relationship with said guy.
Girls will obsess over every word of the message
and spend 30 minutes deciding what to respond with.
I'm pretty sure this annoys the ish out of guys.

8. Comparing Relationships to Movies

Ps. Is anyone else really excited to see Zefron all grownup and hot?!
This one makes me laugh because we all know that our lives are not like The Notebook.
But that doesn't mean we don't hope they are.
Guys don't want that kind of pressure..
that would be too much work.

Oh gosh, this was so fun to write!
I hope nobody takes this too seriously.
Sarcasm is one of my favorite talents.
BUT do you agree with any of them?

Finally..
If you didn't hear already,
my beloved Gavin DeGraw was kicked off of Dancing with the Stars last night :(
Good news is he can get his booty back out on the road..
and I can stop annoying you guys by talking about him.
It's a win, win!

Happy Wednesday lovers!

Coachella- Where Dressing like a Homeless Person is Acceptable

Don't get me wrong,
if someone said to me "Let's go to Coachella, here is a free ticket!"..
I would just jump on that ish immediately.

I personally want to attend the festival atleast once in my life.

What I am here to talk about is the clothes, or in some cases lack thereof.
I know it's in the desert, and it's hot but some of these outfits are just inexcusable.
Especially when they are on celebrities.

What's even funnier is that most of these outfits looks like they came from a Goodwill or a homeless person, when in reality they are most likely very expensive!

So without further adieu..
What you should definitely NOT wear to Coachella

No Katy Perry, just no.
There is nothing cute about this sheer dress with black undergarments!

I might not mind this get up from Vanessa Hudgens..
however, the knee highs are stupid and I want to know what orange business is between her legs.

Yep, she was a repeat offender.
There are no words. What is this feather headpiece?

I actually love this maxi that Paris Hilton is wearing but combined with the swim top, necklace, and head gear it screams hot mess!

Okay okay.. Chord Overstreet and Emma Roberts are an adorable couple.
But I hate these pants. They look like ugly pajama pants.

Now I'm not one to be solely negative (okay who are we kidding I totally am)
but here are some examples of acceptable Coachella fashion..

I just adore this animal print romper and Emma Watson looks adorbs in it!
Not to mention, the floppy hat looks so cute with her hair.

Does anyone remember when she was on the Real World San Diego?
Now she is an actress, and I love Jamie Chung's layered look and jewels!

Not only does Nina Dobrev look great in this bright maxi, but her arm candy doesn't hurt either!
Does anyone else just think of them as Damon and Elena?

I want this adorable outfit that model Dree Hemingway is rocking!
The pattern is funky and those platform wedges are to die for.

Normally I hate Fergie's attire, but for some reason I like this look.
I think it's because she stayed in a neutral color pallete
and her outfit looks effortless, instead of trying to hard.

What are your thoughts on Coachella fashion?
I might need to do a Part 2 next week because the festival is coming back for round 2 this weekend!

Until next time loves..

Do's and Don'ts

In lieu of my usual Weekend Recap,
I've decided to give you my..

Do's and Don'ts for having a Fabulous Weekend

DO go to Happy Hour with your co-workers on Friday!
It's great to get to know them outside of the office and makes work a more interesting environment.

DON'T go to bed at 9:30 on Friday night.
You will wake up way too early and have too much time to go shopping on Saturday!

Finally broke down and bought it. LOVE it.

DO make an effort to meet up up with old coworkers on a consistent basis!
You will be surprised at how fun it is to talk about how far you've come from the terrible job you all shared and how much happier you are now.

DON'T go to Petco without your dog!
When you see everyone else there with their dogs you will feel bad that you left your's at home and buy her unnecessary treats to make up for it.

DO babysit your cousin for a few hours on Saturday night before you go out!
She will crack you up, as usual and you might make a few bucks to use downtown later.

I will never say no this girl, even if it means wearing a clown nose and looking like an idiot :)

DO plan a girl's night out with your single friends!
You will drink, laugh, and get soaking wet from walking in the rain..
and you might meet a cool group of guys and end up having a great night.

DON'T brag about your blog to said group of guys.
You will show it to them and be super embarrassed about it!

DO go to brunch the next day!
Have delicious Bloody Marys and yummy food that will hold off your hangover,
and have plenty of time to discuss last night's events.

DON'T go home an take a nap after said brunch!
You will sleep for 3 hours and wake up with a terrible headache.

DO eat Chinese and watch a movie with a girl friend on Sunday night.
You will both be exhausted and will laugh until your stomach's hurt at the dumbest things possible!

and finally..

DON'T have regrets!
The best part about being young is doing whatever you want..
and having stories to laugh at later!

Happy Monday Friends!
xoxo
