That time that a whole room of people saw my butt..

Yesterday I went to Target to find workout leggings.
Why specifically workout you ask?

Well I just started this whole workout regimen a few weeks ago.
Just trying to be healthier and find better ways to spend my time than in front of the TV or computer!

I've been going to Zumba classes because they are so much fun and go by so fast!
Plus the place I go to has amazing instructors.

Anyways.. I didn't like wearing shorts or loose pants to class.
So naturally I decided to wear my favorite leggings that I have 3 or 4 pairs of.
Well when I wear leggings it's usually with dresses or really long shirts,
I'm not the kind of girl that will wear anything shorter than below my butt
with them because I think it looks tacky.

But for workout classes I figured who cares so I wore my favorite leggings with a t-shirt.
For 2 separate classes.

Monday, I went to put them on and looked in the mirror at something else before I left.
The leggings are totally see-through in the butt area.
And I went to class and stood in the front row for 2 days straight.
Talk about awkward.

Needless to say I picked up these and tried them on
to make sure no matter how I moved they were covering all areas of my bottom and legs.

The see-through look might work for Kim Kardashian and her butt but ain't cute on me!

Happy Leap Day!

and thanks to Michelle @ The Vintage Apple for encouraging me to write this after I posted it as a comment on her post yesterday :)

This could be paradise..

"When she was just a girl, she expected the world.. but it flew away from her reach so she ran away in her sleep and dreamed of..paradise."

Lately I have been loving this song.

I've always loved anything Coldplay,
but this one has been playing in my car every morning on the way to work.

I think everyone interprets songs differently
but for me this speaks to how I felt for the months leading up to February.
I knew where I wanted to be but I just couldn't get there.

I was unhappy with many of the aspects of my life but slowly and surely things began to fall into place and feel like I've reached my "paradise" as silly as that sounds.

I'm happy with my job.
I'm happy with my sweet adopted Lily girl.
I'm happy with the way I'm changing my health.
I'm happy with the people I've chosen to surround myself with.
I'm just happy and it doesn't get much better than that.
:)

P.S. Did ya'll watch The Voice last night?

Did you see this girl pick Blake Shelton to be her coach?
Well.. I went to college with her at Oklahoma State!
Cool huh?

P.P.S. Did ya'll see the Dancing with the Stars cast reveal this morning?
I was in shock to find out my main man Gavin DeGraw will be a contestant.

I can't wait to watch!

Have a fab day lovelies!

2012 Oscar's Fashion Recap

It's kind of sad that the Academy Awards are sooo boring because the stars really know how to turn it out for this awards show!

I honestly didn't think there was anyone that looked bad so it really came down to personal opinion on dress choices.
A dress may be gorgeous, but that doesn't mean that it looks good on a particular person.

Some of the trends tonight were:
White
Off-the-Shoulder
Peplums
Structure
Long sleeves

With that said.. let's get to it!

Marchesa
Yes. They get their own category.. every time.

Stacy Keibler
I loved this dress on the runway a few weeks ago, and I love it now.
The color looks amazing on her and the dress is so chic.
Not to mention she has some pretty gorgeous arm candy!

Sandra Bullock
I adore when she wears Marchesa, especially at The Oscars and she looks phenom.
The open back trend is on point and I'm obsessed with the jeweled waist.
Not loving the pony but she needed to show off the back.

Best Dressed
Jessica Chastain
in Alexander McQueen
There is no denying she looks fabulous. I love the embroidery, it's so rich and elegant.
I love the cut and the drama of this gown, it's sort of perfect.

Jennifer Lopez
in Zuhair Murad
I'm not sure why she's at The Oscars and she did have a nip slip on stage, but..
Girfriend looks damn good.
I wasn't sure about this dress at first but upon further review I love it.
The cold shoulder cut-outs keeps the long sleeves fresh and I love the illusion.

Guiliana Rancic
in Tony Ward
So flawless. I love everything about this dress.
It looks incredible on her and the embroidery and detail is gorgeous.
I wish the hair had some volume but glad it was up to show off the neck and back of the gown.

Gwyneth Paltrow
in Tom Ford
Who would have thought that someone could wear a cape to the red carpet and look so chic?
She looks stunning and the dress was amazing without the cape as well.
The white is so clean and looks amazing.

Tina Fey
in Carolina Herrera
Custom made for her and it's amazing.
She looks so classic and elegant.
Quite possibly the best she has ever looked!
I'm just so obsessed with this dress.

Michelle Williams
in Louis Vuitton
This was a love it or hate it look and I loved it.
The color is beautiful and I adore a peplum.
I think she looks so chic in this,
this much lace can be aging but the brightness allows it.

Worst Dressed

Kristen Wiig
in J. Mendel
I love her and I want to love her wardrobe but I never do.
There is always something a little off.
This dress is actually stunning but the color does nothing for her!
If this was a pastel I think it would have been great.

Rooney Mara
in Givenchy
Again, I want to like this but I can't.
The white looks brilliant on her but I can't get over the structure on the bust.
It looks odd.
I also wish she would lighten up her hair and makeup just a bit.
Too harsh for a light, airy gown like this.

Shailene Woodley
in Valentino
How to be 19 and look 50.
It's just too much.
This girl is beautiful and this dress makes her frumpy.
I don't like anything about this look.

Emma Stone
 in Giambattista Valli
I am so obsessed with her and this makes me so sad.
This would look amazing on Charlize Theron but not right for Emma.
She is so young and fresh and this ages her.
Plus how many times do we have to tell red heads not to wear red?
It's just harsh.

Viola Davis
in Vera Wang
For starters, I can't handle the orange frizzy hair.
It's The Oscars for crying out loud.
I love the color, but it makes the ruffles at the bust look like lettuce.
I actually really like it from the waist down but the bust is too much.

Berenice Bejo
in Elie Saab
I'll keep saying it.
If you are young and hot, don't wear something that ages you.
Mila Jovovich also wore Elie Saab and it looked incredible.
This color and sleeve look old and unflattering.

What were your thoughts on Oscar's fashion?
Anyone I left out that you loved/hated?

Happy Monday loves!
Can we go ahead and fast forward to the weekend already?!

Eye Candy of the Day- This Means War Edition

Hello lovers!
Happy Friday!

Today I have just one simple question..

Which one would you choose?

Tom Hardy aka Tuck

Chris Pine aka FDR

In case you haven't seen This Means War yet..
these are the two gorgeous gentleman that fight for Reese Witherspoon aka Lauren's attention!

Personally, I'm all for Tom Hardy.
What can I say I'm a sucker for a British accent :)

Hope each and every one of you has a fabulous weekend!

The time I laughed out loud in my quiet office..

So I'm sitting at my desk.. on my lunch.. reading Twitter,
when I see this..

I. CANNOT. STOP. LAUGHING.
Seriously?
This is considered breaking celebrity gossip??

It's just so silly.
And in case anyone forgot..
Zac Efron is 24 years old.

Also.. apparently there is a video which I haven't seen,
but how can they even prove what it is?

Just a little funny for the day!

I Confess...

THURSDAY!
My favorite day of the week (besides the weekend, obvi)..
Why?
Because The Vampire Diaries is on.
I freaking love that show!

Anywhoo.. confession time my dears!

I confess... I have a new found love affair with shellac. It's so fast, it dries quick so no smudges, and it lasts forevs. The thing is girlfrannn has a cuticle biting problem. It's honestly the most annoying habit and I need some hints on how I can stop! Help a sister out ladies :)

I confess... I wish I was Reese Witherspoon. I recently saw This Means War (sidenote.. go see it NOW it is soo funny) and the whole time I just sat there thinking "Reese is so pretty!" and "I kind of wish I looked like her." This is silly, yes but what can I say she is funny, adorbs, and has great hair! Can her and I just switch lives for a bit?

I confess.. I used to hate cereal. Until a week ago when I decided to give it another try. Now, I'm in love. Bowl + Honey Almond Flax + Banana slices + Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk = YUM! Best part is that it's so fast in the morning when I'm running around trying to get ready for work.

I confess... I never use the snooze button. I set one alarm and when it goes off I get up and get ready. I can't stand only sleeping for a few minutes. If I wake up a few minutes before my alarm goes off I just get up and turn it off. I think it's the anticipation of hearing the alarm it just bugs me.

I confess... I have a love affair with post-its. They are just the best. My favorite part about them is I can write a note and if I change my mind all I have to do is un-stick it, throw it away, and write a new one. Call me crazy but I hate the commitment of writing something in ink and then having to cross it out. Weird habit.

I confess... I need some Pho in my life. Preferably with my favorite Pho-going friends Lauren and Jessie. There is nothing better than chatting away over a bowl of delicious Vietnamese soup. What's that.. you've never had Pho? You simply have not lived. Fix that.. now. Thank me later.

I confess... I'll never get sick of taking picture of this little booboohead. Love her more than words can say. Except when she takes off and chases rabbits at 6:30 in the morning.. then I maybe curse her just a leeeetle. Oops.

Lastly I confess... I had a dream last night, that I was eating dinner with Gavin DeGraw. It was awesome.. and then I woke up. Boooo.

It's snowing here and I hate it :(
Have a fab day lovies!

Pinteresting- Getaways

Lately I've been dreaming about vacations.
Somewhere warm with beaches and water,
or maybe just some beautiful tourist sites.

These gorgeous places I found via Pinterest would require a pretty penny..
but that's what is so awesome about this linkup because
a girl can DREAM.
Now if I could just win the lottery...

Portofino, Italy

 Ayada, Maldives

Saturnia, Italy

Bora Bora

Paris, France

Sydney, Australia

If you could jump on a plane and travel anywhere in the world,
where would you go?

Flaws

I got to thinking about flaws.
We all have them.
It will come as no surprise to anyone that knows me..
that I admit to having quite a few.
I think I've discovered my biggest.

I care more too much.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to sound sad or pathetic about it.
It's just a fact.
I can think of dozens of occurences over the course of my life that exemplify it.
Some silly.
And some hurtful.
I just get too emotionally invested in things.
Sometimes I wish I could change it, but I'm pretty sure it's just the way I am.

You see, I dive into things head first and I usually have a good idea of how I want things to turn out.
I'm a planner.
This will usually lead to disappointment.

What's hard for me to accept is people that don't follow through.
It's quite simple actually.
If you say you are going to do something.. than do it.
If you don't want to do something then have the balls to say no.

It's not a hard concept.
Mostly I think people that behave in this way need to grow up..
because grownups say what they mean and mean what they say.

It's just something that was bothering for the past couple days.
What better way to get it out then by blogging it.

..and that's my rant for the day!
Let me know if you agree/disagree with what I'm saying.
I'd love to hear feedback.

Happy Tuesday Lovies :)

Scars & Stories

Ohh hello Monday.
I feel like it was just Friday, you came out of nowhere.

Keeping it short and sweet today.

I recently downloaded The Fray's new cd Scars & Stories.
If you haven't already, go get it yourself.
It's wonderful.
I'm not just saying that because I love The Fray and I love that they are from Colorado.
It's a great album.
One of my favorites is actually a cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's song "Maps."
Listen.. I think you'll love it too.

Another favorite..

I'm finally going to see them live at my favorite venue in the world.

Red Rocks.. on May 11th.

I. Can't. Wait.

Have a great President's Day!
For those of you that don't have to work today..
I'm jealous.. very jealous ;)

February Birchbox Review

Ya'll I could not be more pleased with this month's Birchbox!

This was hands down my favorite box so far.

Let's discuss.

1) Dermalogica-- Daily Microfoliant
This was the biggest let down. I was so excited when I saw it in the box but when I went to use it I didn't think it really did anything. It's a dry powder that you mix with water into a paste and scub on your face. The paste didn't feel very exfoliating. What a bummer!

2) Eye Rock-- Designer Liner
What a cool idea! I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I can't wait! They are essentially a sort of sticker that you put along your lash line to create the perfect eye-liner without drawing it on.

3) BeautyBlender-- The Original
I had heard so much about these amazing little makeup sponges. First of all, they are pink which makes them adorable. They also happen to help you blend your foundation to airbrushed perfection. I don't currently use liquid foundation but I was thinking about getting some and I can't wait to use this with it!

4) Green River Ordinance-- Digital Download
This one put a huge smile on my face. I have loved GRO since I saw them open for Gavin Degraw in Tulsa, Oklahoma a few years ago. They remind me alot of Needtobreathe and they are so good! One of the downloadable songs is Endlessly and it is one of my all time favorites. I can imagine dancing at my wedding to this song! Love love love.

5) Jouer-- Luminizing Moisture Tint
My favorite item in this month's box. I had been wanting to try a tinted moisturizer so that I don't have to wear full foundation every day to work. This one is great! It has a bit of sheen to it but not sparkles or anything just enough to make you look refreshed and ready for the day. I will definitely be ordering a full size of this one!

6) Pink Heart Nail File
How perfect is this little cutie for Valentine's Day (the day I happened to recieve my box)?? I already took it and put it in my desk at work!

For those of you that don't know, Birchbox is a monthly subscription that sends you an adorable box of goodies for just $10! It doesn't get much better than that!

They have been on a long wait-list for awhile but they are now starting to offer memberships again so the sooner you sign up the better!
Click here to order your's today.

Are you guys glad it's Friday?? I am.
I nearly fell asleep at my desk the past few days.
Can't wait for a relaxing weekend with my family.

Before I head out you must see this..
Unless you've been living under a rock then you've heard of this little girl from Toddler and Tiaras

Well I came across this on Pinterest

Apparently Anderson Cooper decided to give the mom and daughter matching makeovers.
TOO FUNNY.

Have a fab weekend my loves!

Be still my heart..

I had some serious issues while updating my Mac from Snow Leopard to Lion this evening so my Birchbox Review will have to wait until tomorrow.

Instead I'll leave you with something that always knows how to cheer me up..

Fashion.

Specifically Marchesa's 2012 Fall RTW

My heart literally skipped a beat as I clicked through each picture in the slideshow.
Go to Style.com to see the rest of the incredible collection.
The things that Georgina and Keren can do with fabric will never cease to amaze me.

Happy Thursday lovies!

Silly, but makes me laugh

True story.

My dog would do this if she could figure out how.

Mean Girls joke.
Happens on a regular basis when I dress up to go out.

Cute.

Normal occurrence in Colorado.

Can't help but laugh at this!

Every text I send throughout the day..

Reasons why I wish my iPhone 4 was a 4s

SO true!
