Dear Lily,

I have now become fully aware that you were meant to be an only fur-child.

When we go stay the night at my parents you act like a complete nut around their 4 dogs.

At home with me, you are calm and sweet.

The latter makes me much happier!

Dear March,

Boy oh boy did you fly by.

In fact, I feel like Winter flew right by but I am definitely ok with this.

Bring it on April..

I am ready for sun dresses, sandals, and sunshine!

NO snow ok?

Dear Motivation,

I was loving the gym and all of a sudden I can't make myself go.

Let's get back on track!

Dear Friends,

Thank you for talking me "off the edge" if you will.

The fact that you can listen to me vent makes me a happy gal.

Dear Mint Green and/or Coral skinnies,

Do me a favor and show up, in the perfect size, in my closet?

I have been searching high and low with no luck.

My closet will not be spring happy until I have you!

Dear 50 Shades of Grey,

I was not expecting what I discovered when I started reading you.

I am now hooked, and slighty embarrassed to read you on my lunch break at work.

I cannot wait to see how this intriguing book plays out on in movie version!

But whatever you do don't hire Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

We don't need a Twilight re-do!

Flashback: Freshman Year

I was inspired after I read Caroline's post here about photo books to make my own.

I thought they were so cute and really want to do one for each year of college.

Then I started going through my pictures and I couldn't help but share them.

Without further adieu..

My Freshman Year of College

Side-note: I look ridiculous, but I wish I was that skinny again.

Side-note: This was clearly before I knew how to apply makeup correctly.

Side-note: Yes I know I was spoiled. This is an a dorm and I did have my own room and a full-size bed.

and when they broke I was devastated.

Side-note 2: Lindsay was my potluck roommate and I love her to death!

Not sure I would have survived Freshman year without her.

My dorm friends who I still adore to this day.

We adopted fish and decorated their bowls and I'm pretty sure they only lived for a week.. tops.

Side-note: Mine were named Lucas and Peyton (OTH Forever)

Late night shenanigans with Alex on our last weekend of Freshman year.

Side-note: I was obsessed with those Ugg clogs, I wore them everywhere!

This was a usual occurrence when we were getting ready to go out!

Side-note: There is an explanation for the two finger sign she is making but I can't for the life of me remember what the joke was!

My dorm floor was the best, I would do anything to go back and live there again.

We always had SO much fun!

Side-note: This is one of my favorite pictures of all time.

I was notorious for talking photos of Katie and I like this with our heads cut off.

Side-note: 80's Date Party, my fave.

Yes we made those awesome sweatshirts, and yes I still have it and wear it on the regs.

I can't believe I posted all of these embarrasing photos but I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Two Movies and a Birthday!

I love going to the movies!

It's one of my all-time favorite things to do which is why I go often.

Especially when it's $5 aka Sundays.

This weekend I was able to see two very good movies that I wanted to share with you!

one. THE HUNGER GAMES

This was a given. I was so excited to see this movie and I thought it was good!

I wasn't really happy that they left out certain things but I understand that was needed to keep the movie at a reasonable length. I thought they picked the right actors to portray the characters but I wished we had seen more of both Gale and Cinna, I didn't think they developed either of these characters as well as they were done in the book. I also wasn't pleased that they completely left out the Mayor's daughter. I thought that was weird. The also changed most of the sponsor gifts, another random switch. With that said it was suspenseful and had me holding my breath even though I knew what was going to happen. I cried like a baby during Rue's final scenes. I don't know why you haven't already seen it but it you haven't go, now! Oh and if you haven't read the books, stop what you are doing and get on the bandwagon, you'll be glad you did.

This picture makes me laugh because Josh Hutcherson is such a baby!

He is only 19 and so short compared to Jennifer and Liam.

two. Friends with Kids

I had seen the previews for this and thought it looked good which is why I agreed to go. It is definitely underrated in the commercials and what little advertising they did, it is SO good. First of all, it has many of the same characters as Bridesmaids: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jon Hamm, and Chris O'Dowd (the police officer from Bridesmaids.) Not only was this movie hilarious, but it featured real life situations of people that have children and what they go through. It will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you second guess having children ;) I strongly reccomend you go see this, you will not be disappointed!

Fun fact.. Jennifer Westweldt who plays the main character, wrote and directed the film and has been dating Jon Hamm for the past 14 years.

In non-movie related news..

Happy 23rd Birthday to my BFF Katie!

From silly freshmen to "grownups" I have always been glad to have you in my life.

Hope your day is great and I, of course, wish I could be there to celebrate!

Birthday love for my favorite little girl!

Happy 5th Birthday to my favorite little blond haired girl..

My cousin Kate!

I watched her on Thursday so her parents could go out by themselves and we had all kinds of fun!

Ps. Is she not my little Mini Me? Love her to pieces!

She helped me make "Slutty Brownies"

I didn't tell her that's what they were called ;)

I helped her make her goody bags for her Birthday party this weekend.

I guess I should say tried to help since she insisted on doing it all herself, and she did a great job.

She amazes me every time I see her with how smart she is!

She cracks me up because she says the funniest things!

For example:

She asked me if she could play on the computer.

I asked her what games she plays because her parents hadn't said anything.

Her response: "It's www.nickjr.com."

Then she ran over to the computer showed me where to type it in, navigated on the page to the games, and turned down the volume. I was amazed that she knew how to work the computer so well!

K: I'm done, there aren't any more pages.

Me: Maybe your parents will buy you a new one for your birthday.

K: I don't think so, they spent a lot of money and now they don't have anymore.

I about died. Where does she come up with this?

I used to live with them for a few months when I graduated from college.

They have an extra room in the basement and that's where I slept.

K: How come you don't sleep in our basement anymore?

Me: I have my own house now.

K: I liked it better when you slept downstairs and I saw you all the time. Can you sleep there tonight?

She makes me heart melt.

For her birthday I got her the cutest pair of toddler TOMS and a Hello Kitty shirt.

That girl is all about Hello Kitty right now and I can't wait to give it to her this weekend!

I love you and I love your music but no matter how many times I listen to your new album I just can't get into it. Let's step away from this "rock" thing your trying to do and go back to what your good at. Please?

Dear Chocolate Chip Oreo Brownie Bars,

You might be the greatest invention EVER, and you taste AMAZING, but you are not good for my diet.

I think I should only allow myself to bake you once every 5 years or something else ridiculous like that.

Dear Colorado,

I love love love this March weather. It's so beautiful and nice outside. 75-80 degrees this weekend? Yes please! Let's just ride this out all the way to Summer ya? I know you have that last snowstorm up your sleeve but I think we both know you should throw that business out the window!

Dear Kim Kardashian,

While I am sorry that a complete wackjob decided to throw flour on you while you were on the red carpet, I think it's hilarious! And I can say that because one time I was out to eat with my parents, my mom pretended to squeeze ketchup on me, and the lid flew open and I was doused in it. I sat through the rest of the meal smelling like ketchup. It was not awesome but when I think about it now, it was hilarious.

Say hello to my new best friends..

Good Morning Friends!

I've been spending more time than I'd like to admit walking the aisles of Sephora lately..

but I've found some fantastic new products that I must share!

one. Smashbox Camera-Ready BB Cream

When I first started looking at BB Creams I did alot of research to find the best ones. I went into Sephora and had a sales girl show me and give me samples of several. My two favorites were this one and Too Faced. I ultimately decided on this one because the color matched my skin better but the Too Faced BB cream is also great . I apply streaks of it with my finger and then use my Beauty Blender to blend it in. If I need more coverage in spots I buff a small amount of Bare Minerals over and set it with ELF's Studio HD Power. I find this gives me great coverage for everyday wear and it's fast!

two. Anastasia Brow Pencil

I'm embarrassed to admit that I had the same Clinique Brow Pencil for years because I didn't use it everyday. Then I figured out how to use it correctly and realized how much better my eyebrows looked when they were defined. I wanted a high quality eyebrow pencil and I knew Anastasia was the best. I also loved that they created a light blond and a dark blond because my eyebrows are more of a taupe color and it's hard to find an eye pencil that matches. This pencil is easy to apply and stays put all day!

three. Nars Highlighting/Bronzing Duo- Orgasm/Laguna

I got a sample size of this in a NARS kit that I purchased. I have wanted to try Orgasm blush for awhile and I thought I could try Laguna as well! I haven't been able to really use Laguna because I'm so pale right now, but I am officially obsessed with Orgasm. It really is a a color that is flattering on everyone and gives an amazing radiance to my cheeks. Best blush I've used in a long time.

four. Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gloss- Vibrant Coral

This is my new favorite lip gloss. The texture is perfect, smooth and not sticky. I really wanted a new bright color and I opted for this shiny coral with no sparkle or sheen. It looks amazing by itself as well as over Revlon's Lip Butter in Peach Parfait!

I would reccomend any of these prodcuts for you to try for yourself!

Pinteresting- Healthy Yums

This week I've made it my goal to not only eat healthy,

but also buy fresh produce and find new ways to cook it!

Here are some yummy recipes I found via Pinterest:

I've read about these for weeks and I've been dying to try one.

I just need to figure out where my blender is hiding and I'll be good to go!

Baked Zucchini Sticks

How yummy does this look?

I love that they used Zucchini because it's always very low priced at the grocery store!

The link says it's inspired by the "Bloomin' Onion" so how could you go wrong ;)

Roasted Edamame

I love love love Edamame and while I am happy with just steaming the pods and eating as is,

I think these would be even yummier and a great snack!

Skinny Chicken Pot Pie Soup

I love Chicken Pot Pie and I've heard nothing but good things about SkinnyTaste.

I will definitely be whipping this up during the final snowstorm we are sure to have in Colorado!

Chocolate Banana Bites

Say the words Chocolate and Banana and you've won me.

I think these would be great if you put some Peanut Butter on the Bananas first and used Dark Chocolate.

YUM!

I've been on a Quinoa kick lately and while I've found plenty of ways to make it,

this one sounds like it will be my new favorite!

Alright so those are my healthy eating ideas..

Crazy fan girl over here..

I've said it once, I've actually said it a million times, and I'll keep saying it..

I love Gavin DeGraw

I love his music, I love his concerts, and I love his adorable smile.

I especially love the person that I've had the chance to meet and chat with.

He is kind, funny, and an absolute sweetheart.

I say this because last night was his first performance on Dancing with the Stars..

and he was nervous.

Don't get me wrong I would be too

and my Mom and I still voted for him over 100 times

but I feel the need to explain and that he doesn't make bad jokes about being "stiff" on a regular basis.

At least I don't think so.

Goodness I really am crazy.

Don't judge me.. too much!

Anyways..

the point of this was to post his video from last night

and convince you all to call in and vote for him :)

They aren't sending anyone home until after they perform again next week!

I think the judges were too harsh,

I thought he did great!

March Birchbox Review

I hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day Weekend!

I would do a recap for you but I layed pretty low so nothing exciting to report.

Instead I wanted to share my Birchbox goodies!

This month Birchbox gave it's subscribers the choice to recieve the usual box or a special one that was hand picked by the staff at Teen Vogue.

When I heard that is was also being sponsored by Essie, I immediately chose the Teen Vogue box because I love Essie's nail polish.

I couldn't wait for the box to arrive and I was so pleased with what I found!

one. Tarte LipSurgence lip tint in "Lucky"

I was pleasantly surprised with this full size sample. I had expected to hate the color but when it was applied with a light hand and topped with a clear gloss it was really pretty. I don't think it should be classified as a tint though because it doesn't have staying power. Also, this is great for anyone wanting a matte lip.

two. Essie luxeffects top coat in "As Gold as it Gets"

I am a sucker for sparkles and this nail polish is great! I have been keeping an eye out for these top coats and haven't found them so I was pleased to recieve a full-size bottle in my box and it will definitely be well used.

three. Kate Spade Twirl perfume

I love this smell! I think it would make for a wonderful summer fragrance with it's fruity notes. Wearing this makes me feel super girly!

four. Kerastase Elixir Ultime hair oil

I know that hair oils are a huge trend right now and while this one does smell amazing, I can't review it because my blonde hair doesn't not take well to oil except to get greasy so I try and stay away. This one might be great to apply, let steam in the shower, and then wash out so I might give that a try.

five. Twistband Hair tie

I have tried these hair bands before and I love them! They are comfortable and soft and even look cute when left on your wrist with the rest of your arm candy :) This color was great because it blends well with my hair color.

I Confess...

I feel like I haven't done this in a few weeks so here we go..

Time for some confessions!

I confess... I didn't turn the TV on yesterday and I loved it.

Instead I sat on my porch and read for a few hours.

It was so refreshing and will be happening more often!

I confess... My commute to work this morning was so nice, thanks to two things.
The awesome iced coffee I made and my new playlist.
These 2 songs were included, obvi.

I confess... Having a dog is such a great thing when you come home after a bad day!
Nothing cheers me up more than her sweet face and how she wanted to sit outside with me.

I confess... I may ~~or may not~~ have eaten this bag of taffy on Saturday night.
I haven't had it in SO long and I forgot how yum it is!

I confess... I'll be here tonight with my Dad.
He got box seats for us to watch the Nuggets vs. the Thunder and I'm so excited!
Problem is I don't know who to root for :/

I confess... I've eaten fro-yo twice this week and I'm not even embarrassed about it!
It's just too good to say no when it's so nice outside.
