As we all know, I love me some celebrity fashion. Always have, always will. Awards shows are great and fun and we like them but they are not the queen. The queen of celebrity fashion is the Met Ball. The event where the big guns come out and if we're being honest here.. either you nail it or you fail it. This year's theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture and some people ignored it and some people took it and ran. I have a lot of thoughts on this year's attendees so we'll be breaking this up into three parts. I hope to get them all posted today!

Taylor Swift in J.Mendel
Girl did you get a new stylist? You are killing it. Not only does she look her age, for once.. but she looks radiant! I never would have thought that the punk rock look could work for Swifty but it just does. The cutouts and embellishments are amazing. Not to mention she put pink in her hair, she clearly knows the way to my heart!
Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney
I know some people are going to disagree with this one and that's okay. Remember Gwyneth's Tom Ford cape at the Oscars? I love a good cape. Cameron is bringing the glam and stepping up to the plate. She's saying no more pink and frills.. and at her age she should be. I also die for the royal blue, so elegant.
Christina Ricci in Vivienne Westwood
This is so what I pictured Gwen Stefani wearing, but we won't get in to her outfit quite yet. I love that this has the punk element but is also so chic. The hair and makeup bring the classic glam while the dress and the fishnets pull in that punk edge. Well done Brad Goreski, this was styled perfectly. PS. Has she not aged one bit? She still looks 20!
Sarah Jessica Parker in Giles Deacon
Just go ahead and bow down to the Met Ball Princess. Every year she knocks it out of the park and comes back next year even better. Is it crazy? Yes. It's also so chic. Don't even get me started on that head piece. I'd wear that to the grocery store if I could. One side note though: there were pictures where the front slit exposed her panties and to that I say.. no girl, just no.
Anne Hathaway in Valentino
Um Annie is that you? You're giving us a little Anne Heche with that hair, but girl it is working. Thank you for taking that god awful frilly mess you wore to the Oscars and throwing it out the window for some sex pot punk. There is so much going on here and she is working it like a pro. The dress is maybe a bit to see-through at the bust but the embellishments and feathers? I just say yes.
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior
So my girl J.Law didn't exactly follow the theme, but that's okay. She is giving pure glamour in this ensemble and I love it. The dress length works to show off those incredible shoes and she looks grown up and beautiful. The red lip is the perfect pop of color too. This is her one and only pass though.. next year you better step it up and do something fun!
Jessica Biel in Giambattista Valli
I have gone back and forth with myself on this one and I've decided that I love it and I'm sticking to it. Girlfriend looks fierce and there is not denying that. I mean give me those arms right this second! She's not even wearing much makeup and she looks flawless. There were quite a few leggings under dresses looks and I think hers was the best go at it. Not everyone could have pulled this off but she is working it and it shows.
Brooklyn Decker in Peter Pilotto
Is this really punk? No not really, but I'm obsessed with this dress. I love the Art Deco inspiration going on and I die for those gorgeous heels. Her hair and makeup look flawless too. I just think this is perfectly styled and shows off her amazing figure. Two thumbs up!
Rooney Mara in Givenchy
There were a lot of Givenchy dresses on the red carpet last night and they were all pretty bad, except this one. Leave it to Rooney to have the opportunity to do punk, and then show up in white. It works on her though and she looks stunning. She stuck to her dark hair and makeup but she is rocking that dress and killing it. One of the best things I've ever seen her in!
Amber Heard in Pucci
Again, no punk look here but she is giving full on bombshell. Everything from the styling to the fit is all perfection on her and she looks incredible. I mean normally you don't want to match the red carpet, but it's working here. Love the low back and the sparkle and would have loved to see the shoes! PS. Still can't get over the fact that she lives on a private island with Johnny Depp. Weird.

I agree with what you say on Jessica but gosh darn every time I see her since her and JT got hitched I just want to punch her in the face...perhaps out of jealousy or the fact that him and Brit Brit belong together? I don't know yet...
I completely agree on the Christina Ricci dress...it's killer. I'm pretty sure Gwen has worn that dress or very similar before, she is a huge fan of vivian westwood.

Cameron's dress was WAY too tight, which totally drew my eye to her crotch, rather than the cool cape and studded belth. FAIL.
I can't love C.Ricci's dress because it is a wanna-be of my favorite Project Runway dress from season 3 (Designer was Jeffrey Sebelia) - it was a GORGY yellow plaid punk bad-ass red carpet look.

Hathaway has been dying to do sexbomb - but not sure why, since she admitted herself in an interview that she's "too vanilla, too sweet" to be sexy. I think she's right. But she doesn't look ugly.
I can't even believe that Rooney Mara is on ANYONE's best dressed! GAG. It's like she had K.Stew give her styling advice. This is the worst "hard vs soft" I've seen in a while.
