By know, I would hope that you know that President Obama was reelected to run the country for another 4 years. I'm not one to discuss politics on my blog, but if you follow me on Twitter you know that I am pleased with the outcome. Let me also say this, there were times that I thought Romney had the election in the bag and I had started thinking how I felt and would react to that. Did I plan to bash him? No. I planned to stand up with him as a united country. It makes me very sad that so many people who were hoping for a Romney win did not do the same thing for President Obama. At the end of the day, he is the President of our great country and you should respect him.
One last note, I had ALOT of Republicans on my Twitter feed and saw a lot of nasty tweets. Did I unfollow anyone? No. I don't feel that anything I said last night was disrespectful at all. Did I get unfollowed by at least 20 people last night? Yes. That's too bad because they will be missing out on my witty snark now that the election is over ;)
End rant.
Now onto one of my favorite topics to discuss on the blog.. Beauty!
Mario Badescu- Botanical Facial Gel
Mario Badescu- Glycolic Grapefruit Cleansing Lotion
Mario Badescu- Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30
I picked up all three of these Mario Badescu products from Ulta about a month ago, when they had a rare 20% off coupon that was eligible for skincare. I talked to one of the employees for a long time and she helped me pick up the ones that were right for my skin. I was dealing with a major oil problem, and I initially thought I needed products formulated for acne prone skin. Except I wasn't having breakouts. All three of the things I got are made to reduce oil production and they have completely changed my skin. I can't say enough good things about this brand, not only is it effective, but it does not break the bank and I love that!
DERMADoctor- Ain't Misbehavin' Blackhead Treatment
When I was at Ulta I also mentioned to the girl there that I was having trouble getting rid of the blackheads on and around my nose. She gave me a sample of this product and let me tell you it works wonders. You put it on the affected areas at night and after a few days they have disappeared. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way. I will definitely be purchasing this soon!
HAIR
Tool Structure 3 Row Tortoise Backcomber
I have been using this comb for several years now, and it is hands down my favorite. Not only is it easy to part and comb with, but I have found it creates the most volume when I am teasing my hair.
TRESemme- Tres Two Extra Hold Hairspray
I picked this up because of my girl Pink Lou Lou and I will never buy another hairspray again. It's got a strong hold without being sticky, and the best part? It costs about $3! Win, win.
Kerastase- Elixir Ultime Protect
I could write love stories about this serum. I got it in my Birchbox, and have since hoarded samples of it from my Mom and anyone else that doesn't want it. It's expensive, which is why I have yet to purchase a full size yet, but I'm saving my Birchbox points for when I do. This stuff is lightweight, but makes your hair SO soft and shiny. I put two to three drops on my hand and run it through the ends of my hair before I blow dry.
MAKEUP
Beauty Blender- Makeup Sponge
Another Birchbox item that I now cannot live without. I get it wet, squeeze all of the water out, and use it blend my foundation. It creates a smooth, even complexion every single time.
Revlon- ColorStay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin
I picked this foundation up after hearing rave reviews from several different bloggers, and I'm so glad I did. It's not heavy, but it covers and lasts all day. I always thought you had to purchase something from Sephora to find a great foundation, but this drugstore gem proved me wrong!
Essie- It's Genius
I got this nail polish last week from Stephanie and I used it this past weekend. I usually like opaque colors, but this one changed my mind. It's a gorgeous mauve that has gold shimmer to it. Perfect for Fall!
What are you favorite Fall products? Share them with me!
Have a great day and please remember the Golden Rule.. "Treat others the way you would want to be treated!"

I didn't unfollow you! I will continue to enjoy your snark...
I can't help but laugh at all the people who said they are going to move because Obama was re-elected. That's a lie, so let's stop being dramatic. BUT, if they were to move to a different country, that would open up the job market and help unemployment rates!
Either way, I love that color nail polish.
Is it weird that I have NO idea how to tease my hair?
^^^ to Carolyn, I am a teased hair virgin as well!!!
I have been using a Mario Badescu face mask for a few months now and REALLY love it. Considering trying more of their products, I love the price point!
Thanks for posting your favorites, I have the same skin issues and am looking for something food for around/on my nose. I also have some samples coming from Mario Badescu website and now I am even more excited to try them =)
Yay for beauty recommendations! I definitely want to try all those skin products.
I wrote about the election hate on my blog today too. OMG. Someone wrote "thanks for ruining our country" on my facebook status and defriended me--ha! I mean seriously people. I've seen some crazy stuff on facebook especially!
I agree about supporting/respecting the President even if we didn't vote for him. It's so sad how divided people can become when the bottom line is we all want a better America. Great post! xo
If you like that blending sponge you will also love the blue Sophia Kashuk one at Target. If you have a problem with black heads you might also have a problem with large pores like I do. I use Benefit's Porefessional. It's some sort of primer cream, but it really minimizes the appearance of large pores and blackheads. But, I am going to try the Dermadoctor stuff and maybe I will need to cover up less.

First, I want to say that the animal print in your blog design is awesomeness! I love, love, LOVE animal print! Second, I have been blog stalking you for a long time and this is my first comment.
I currently use Giovanni shampoo/conditioner. It's about $7-$10 per bottle unless you grab a HUGE 32 ounce on super sale at Marshalls which I happened to do two weeks ago. Clearly I got the memo LATE because I bought the last two bottles. I would have seriously bought the whole darn thing if I knew they were there because I'm a gal who loves a great deal!
Anyway, I'll stop my rambling now. It's an awesome product and you should try it!
Have a great day!

Love the beauty recs!
AGREE with your rant. I can't believe how rude some people are. It baffles me. we are so lucky to live in this country!
Geez, I've missed you. Hopefully life will slow down a teeny bit so I can be more blog/twitter involved!
I'm a Republican and of course, was hoping for a Romney win, but I was absolutely appalled at some things being said last night, from both spectrums. Just killed me. I can't believe the things people let come out of their mouths! Sure, I was hoping for a presidential change, but we didn't get it--so Obama has my full support for the next 4 years. He's our President, and I stand behind him. Some people are just plain ignorant.
And I always love all of your beauty tips...love reading about what makes you so beautiful :) I need one of those foundation blenders SO bad! Must find one soon. And I agree with that hairspray--just picked up a new can this morning! It's the best.
Loooooove you, sweet Sami! Happy Wednesday!
I suuuuuuure do love you :))
I didn't unfollow you! To be fair, I didn't actually read anything you wrote... sorry :P But the things I did see blew my mind. From both sides. Such angry, angry people in the world. Thankfully, Hawkeye only tweeted about Chunk Handler for president, no one unfollowed her. Also, I don't even know how many followers she has...
Man I suck at social media. Anyway! Glad you like the polish! It's one of my favorites. And I've heard good things about Mario Badescu products, I might have to check this out!
That hairspray is amazing--I use it when I travel! I am SO trying that blackhead product ASAP. Thanks for the suggestions!
P.s. Go Obama! It was a relief to have some fellow Obama lovers on twitter last night who weren't acting like fools. Go us!
Thanks for your beauty product recommendations. Very cool! I should learn how to tease my hair.
Also, I felt the same you did when it appeared Romney had an edge. I almost felt physically sick. That being said, I would not have gone to the lengths of rant that I saw online. Unbelievable! As a Democrat, my feeling are, if Obama won in 2012 in the same manner Bush did in 2000...live with it, right? Anyway, it was a pretty heated election so it looked like some people had to blow off steam online. Hopefully they don't add you back like creepy exes!
LOL. I kid I kid!

I could not agree with you more on the election. I was offended by so many things on facebook and twitter last night. I can't imagine saying such hateful and ignorant things about the leader of our country!
I need to get that makeup sponge! I've heard so much about it and the ones I use fall apart so easily. Do you have to change it often? And where can you get them??
xoxo
Oh gosh, I made sure to stay off twitter, but Facebook was just ridiculous with all of the things people had to say. I had who I wanted to win in my mind, but I knew that whoever won that I would be okay with. I've never appreciated when people made terrible remarks against our political figures. No matter what we need to respect our leaders and stand beside them in all of our needs.
xo TJ
I LOVE Mario Badescu- I've been using his regular Glycolic Cleanser forever and I just stocked up online with a whole skincare regimen. PS- if you order online, you get to pick 3 free samples of anything. Helllooo eye cream.
The Keratase oil is fantastic. It is a shame it is so expensive though. I don't have any left and I really don't want to spend the money on more- even though I love it.
Totally agree with you last night i said to myself no matter who wins i will support them because they are MY/OUR president!
I keep hearing os much about beauty blenders i might need to buy one soon!
Xo
Your hair always looks amazing! Thanks for the product tips.
As for the election - I am an Independent voter because I can see BOTH sides. I wish more people were like that. Most of my FB friends are Dems so I didn't see any hateful comments toward Obama but I did see lots of sad things directed at Romney about his religion. It's not OK to bash someone with bigoted remarks. As a whole, I'm pretty disgusted with America's treatment of one another. We need to respect each other and work together.
Amen to your rant. Whoever you voted for, as an American it's your duty to respect the presidential office. I've lived abroad for nearly 10(!) years, and I fully believe that one should respect their country and their president when on foreign soil. Especially during the war, I have had some really hateful things said to me about being American, and it takes its toll. But I can tell you that no matter my own political beliefs, I have fully supported Presidents Obama and Bush equally and I will continue to do so. It's incredibly sad that people are making callous remarks over the election. I have been unable to visit the States in nearly three years, and I would give anything to. I'd happily switch places with someone who has decided that they'll now leave the USA.
Anyway, I am crazy in love with that Essie nail polish. Gorgeous. If Keratase oil is that great I will have to invest in a bottle!
I completely agree with what you said about the election! There were so many people complaining after Obama won.
I love that nail polish! I might have to get it soon. <3
Revlon Colorstay FTW! Seriously one of my HG foundations.
i need to try those mario products. i use the acne facial cleanser and i love it! my skin is so so oily though! =/
I agree on with everything about Mr. President!!
You're lovely and apparently I need to some face shopping lol
The best part of the election last night... texting with you and Dana. Love you!
I posted two political blogs this week, I'll lay off the crack for a while. I share your joy!
After seeing it all over theInterwebs, I got Baby Lips by Maybelline this week. Buy one get one half off. I love them.
it was very gracious of you not to unfollow some twitter peeps mama.. some of the comments where just straight nasty, I unfollowed a few.
All I can say is.... so glad the elections are over!! Now we can go on with our businesses! Anyways... I LOVE I mean LOVE Revlon Colorstay!!! It's beyond amazing and I doubt I'll ever use another foundation again!!
I have about 60 people blocked from my newsfeed on FB -- and during times like these I am glad I don't have a Twitter account. I am appalled by the disrespect that people show for the leader of their country. Like him or not, he is the freaking President and it does not leave a good impression with foreigners like me to disrespect the highest person in the country like that. Some people should be ashamed of themselves in this country. You don't want to have the option of more than one leader to choose from? Feel free to join many of the countries in this world where governments will only give you one option. I just hope for their sake that it is the option to their liking then. Gah. Ignorant people.
I'm a republican and you did NOT offend me! Still following loud and proud sister!
