The Results Are In..

Hi Lovies!

I am anxiety ridden today.. it's a real biotch. But then my boyfriend released a new single, and he said this.. "And I'm trying not get stuck in my head." Then I laughed because that is my life story. Always, always in my head trying to over analyze every situation and I've gotta snap out of it. Boom, done. Also you should go download this song, because it kicks butt and I love it and him so many.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may know that last night was my final training session with my personal trainer, Brooke. Over the course of two months, I completed 24 sessions with her. Today I am going to share my results.

April 15th:
208 lbs
Body Fat 35%
Measurements-
Chest 44 inches
Bicep 13 inches
Waist 39 inches
Hips 49 inches
Thigh 26 inches

June 17th:
193 lbs
Body Fat 30%
Measurements-
Chest 42 inches (-2 inches)
Bicep 12 inches (-1 inch)
Waist 36 inches (-3 inches)
Hips 41 inches (-8 inches)
Thigh 24 inches (-2 inches)

Total lbs lost: 15 lbs
Total Body Fat % lost: 5%
Total inches lost: 16 inches

Am I happy with these results? Well, they are better than nothing.. but this is hard. This was the course of 64 days and I worked out 52 of of those days. That's a lot I feel. I also diligently tracked my calories on My Fitness Pal and did not go over with the exception of about 5 or 6 days. I was very dedicated to this, but doing it in a way that was healthy and safe.

I did take some comparison photos and while my wonderful friends (Max and Brin) insist that the changes are there, I just don't feel comfortable sharing them with the interwebs just yet. I think that maybe in another month or two when it's more obvious and noticeable to me I will share. With that being said, if you are super interested and feel that pictures will help motivate you.. Email me and I will more than likely show them to you.

Where do I go from here? Well first of all, I will not be continuing with a personal trainer. While we did have our ups and down, I am truly grateful for everything that she did for me and I would love to continue with her. However, the expense is just not something I can manage long term. Her and I both decided that she would be willing to check up on me often, and I would work towards saving the money for more sessions.

With that being said, I think I am ready to work at this on my own. I know what to do in the weight room and I am slowly but surely gaining the confidence to do it on my own. I'm not perfect, but I'm getting there. This is and will continue to be one of the hardest things I have ever tried to accomplish, but the benefits are worth it. All of my clothes are starting to feel too big, and people are starting to notice the changes in my body. As long as I keep reminding myself of these things, I know that I will be able to motivate myself to keep going.

A big, huge thank you to everyone that has left comments, tweets, and emails of encouragement. You all have no idea how motivating they are and how great they make me feel! As always, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Girlfriend even though the weight in numbers may not be falling off that is a large amount of inches that have fallen off! You have worked hard and you are doing it the right way! Be so stinking proud of that!!!! I am going through a rough time right now. I hit my 100 pounds lost in February and then kinda lost track. I am STILL trying to figure all of this out. Hang in there! Just believe in yourself always ;)

That's awesome girl! As far as going without a trainer, you can totally keep it up without her! It's all in your mind and with how far you've come, your mindset is ready to go :)

I am SO proud of you muffin! You did an amazing job and while I'm sure you can tell a difference in those pictures, posting your weight and measurements is so brave. There is absolutely no way I could post mine so kudos to you :) You have done amazing!

Great job! Getting in shape and losing weight is so hard. I'm in the process right now (well...I feel like I have been for a few years) and definitely need to be a lot more diligent. Would you mind sharing how many calories you are consuming a day? I know you are busting your butt at the gym, but just wondering what you are eating. Again, awesome job!!

said...

I definitely know how u feel when people say they are a difference but I just don't see very much! I felt great after a 3 day detox but now I'm eating again and even a salad is making me feel like I'm back to the start... I wont give up though. I will continue to workout 5x a week and I will continue to eat healthy :)
I think your results are awesome!!!

said...

Sami!! That's a huge accomplishment! Be proud of yourself, girly, because your hard work IS paying off.

said...

You go girl! I totally think that is an accomplishment and the scale isn't the end-all be-all! It's all about how healthy you're feeling and how good you're feeling about yourself! It's a journey.. and a never-ending one.. and I'm sure you don't have to pay a personal trainer now that you've changed your lifestyle! Xo

Dropping 15 pounds in 2 months is AMAZING. I just want you to remember how long it took you to get to the point where you finally said, "I need to change." Chances are that period of time is greater than two months! When you think of the grand picture, you have to realize that two months is short when it comes to changing your lifestyle. Keep it up and the results will CONTINUE to be amazing!

said...

Man, that is MAJOR progress for 2 months! I'm super impressed!

awesome work! it can be a slow process but it'll be so so worth it in the end. keep it at and you will see the results you want. if you feel like you hit a plateau, i'd suggest trying a new class (spin, zumba, yoga, whatever) because it can get you out of a funk and jump start your metabolism by working new muscles. good luck and you can do it!!

YAY!!! Those results are amazing and definitely inspiring. Congrats, lady! The only thing I think you left out in your results summary is how you're feeling - like have you noticed any differences in your energy/sleep/etc? I know that when I work out, those are the things I get excited about. Thanks so much for sharing!

Congrats Sami!! Keep up the hard work! It will be so worth it in the end :)

Any progress is progress made!!

Great job!

said...

Those are awesome results! I think your dedication to this change is obvious. Keep up the good work!!

said...

You are AMAAAAZING! WOW! First off, they always say a pound a week is a healthy amount to expect to lose and you exceeded that by far! And second, I'm sure you've seen that quote floating around pinterest that says it takes 4 weeks for YOU to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for friends/family, and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. So you're well on you way! Way to go little lady, you're doing so great!

said...

WAY TO GO! I know that it doesn't seem like a difference has been made, but you are obviously making lots of positive changes! Remember it takes 12 weeks for you to visibly notice a difference...don't get discouraged!

KEEP KICKING ASS!

So think about it this way... 1-2 lbs a week is "healthy" weight loss. You basically did 2 lbs a week for 2 months. THAT IS AMAZING. And you should be very proud of yourself! I know what you mean though, its hard when you are shooting towards an end result and you just have to chip off a little bit at a time. But pretty soon it will be 2 more months, and 15 more pounds, and that will be 30, and then 40. Just keep at it and keep doing what you are doing. It is obviously working. I know what you mean about the trainer, I was working out with a trainer and at $60/hour 2-3x a week, its just completely unreasonable long term, but you have learned the basics and you can totally do this on your own! Keep up the good work. I just got a Polar FT60 and I'm in love. That thing is its own little motivator!

said...

Wow congratulations that is amazing! Such great results, you clearly worked so hard and should be very proud of yourself! GOOD JOB! You look fabulous and this post is so motivating!

I can tell a difference in your pics posted! It's a start and it's a HUGE start! Congrats on getting going and I'll be cheering for your continued success!

You are inspiring! I SO need to read about other girls that are working on being healthier. BTW...minus 16 inches? Girl! Go grab a yardstick and note how much 16 inches really is. That is A LOT! Better than none, right? You're on the right track! Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing this with us!

said...

Great job!!!! I've been with a trainer on and off for 8 months and am just now seeing some real results. It's a long journey, with lots of up and downs, but if you keep at it and go in it with all your heart, you can do it!!! Sending nothing but good vibes :)

said...

you've done amazing so far! keep it up!

they say it takes 4 weeks for you to start noticing changes, 8 weeks for really close friends, and 12 weeks for everyone else. i always use that as motivation to keep pushing!

said...

yay!! You are SO amazing. It feels good, right? I just hit my 20 pound weight loss mark with weight watchers, and while it hasn't been easy, those little milestones make it alllll worth it. So happy for you achieving your goals!

said...

amazing!!! ah! I'm so happy for you!! You're doing awesome! I bet the changes are noticeable, especially if your clothes are feeling loose and big! The numbers don't lie. And your hips?! Girl that's incredible! Beyond all this are the changes that happen on the inside and that's what it's really all about, you should be so proud of all your feats and your dedication!

said...

Wow, that is AMAZING! You worked out 52 days in 2 months? That's so fantastic! I totally understand not wanting to share photos. Keep it up, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! This is a great accomplishment and you even motivated me to work harder at it. 3 days a week isn't cutting it and maybe if I went as much as you did, I would see some results too (I haven't seen any at all or lost any inches yet). Keep it up, you're doing GREAT!

said...

Congrats girl!!! Wonderful progress!!!

That is a ton of inches in two months! Congrats on doing in the right way! Inspiration for me, that's for sure!

said...

HOW did I miss this yesterday? I suck. 70 other people are better than me. Anyhow, I know nothing about math & inches & that kind of stuff but a lot of people are saying that you lost many many inches in a short time! SO GET OUT YOUR HEAD.

Also I am reading this after having to look at your disgustingly perfect Instagram pic earlier so I already know that you look gooood. I am so proud of you yay yay yay!

said...

OMG! This is absolutely incredible! You are doing so amazing and will continue to do so now that you have all the tools!

Congrats on the weight loss!!!
Don't give up and continue, I know what you mean on not seeing the results yourself. I started in February and did a weigh in two weeks ago. I've lost 25 lbs since than. I don't see it but I do feel it in the majority of my clothes. I also stopped the trainer I was seeing because my pocket was starting to see the results of that.I continued to run but I started Insanity last week finally and let me tell you, I've never been this sore in my life!

I wish you the best of luck on your journey! I'm sure you're gonna rock! :)

Sami you've done awesome during those two months with your trainer. I know working out can sometimes feel like its not working - but keep your diet clean & your workouts up and it will all fall into place. Congrats on your weight loss so far & keep it up girly!

p.s. I have a TON of workouts on my blog if you wanna check them out!

Remember, you are always going to be your toughest critic, trust what your friends tell you. It is super motivating to read posts by other bloggers trying to achieve a healthier lifestyle, it definitely makes me want to kick my own goals up a notch, so thank you for that!

Way to go girl!

Holy shit girl! GOOD FOR YOU! You have worked SO SO SO hard and I am so glad that your work is paying off! We are definitely our own toughest critics so I am sure the results are WAY more noticeable than what you're giving yourself credit for. I wish I could be as motivated and dedicated as you...sometimes I feel like this baby weight may just hang on forever. XO.

said...

You are doing SO great! I know how hard you are working and it will all pay off! I promise. If not, you can track me down and be mean to me. I am so happy you linked up with us and let me know if I can help you in any way. We should totes meet up and work out when I move! xoxo

said...

Amazing job!! It's so hard to be committed, I struggle with that a lot, so I give you so many props to keeping up and sticking with it!!! You go girl!

said...

I know this comment is a little late but I just wanted to tell you I am in a very similar boat. I just stopped with my personal trainer because of the expense, but I do feel I got very valuable lessons out of the workouts we did do. I know I would not have figured out how to do half that stuff on my own. So I hope you feel the same way and good luck on the rest of your journey. 15 lbs is a whole hell of a lot more than none and if other people are noticing, then you are doing something right!

said...

CONGRATS!!! You did such a great job and the best part is that you were healthy about it! I had to stop going to a trainer, too, due to finances. Such a bummer. Oh well, you can keep going without one!

said...

15 LBS is AMAZING! I didn't notice differences in my body for four months, so you still have plenty of time ;) It's like our minds play tricks on us and we think we aren't accomplishing as much as we are. I KNOW you can own the gym by yourself, so keep it up! I'll work out with you when I come to Denver soon ;)
